PlainSearch
ONLINE
A web tool that turns a plain-language request into an exact Gmail search query, with a breakdown of what each piece of syntax does. The interface is currently in French.
Example
You write (in French: "Phone bills from Free Mobile older than 6 months, with an attachment"):
Les factures Free Mobile de plus de 6 mois, avec une pièce jointeThe tool produces:
from:free-mobile OR subject:facture has:attachment older_than:6mWhat the tool does
- Turns a sentence into a Gmail search query.
- Links each part of the sentence to the operator it produced, so you learn the syntax along the way.
- Copies the query, or opens it directly in Gmail search in a new tab.
- Provides a cheat sheet of the most useful Gmail operators.
Privacy
The tool does not connect to your Gmail account and reads no email. There is no account and no database, and nothing is stored. The sentence you type is sent to a language model to produce the query.
In the spirit of Rexact, which does the same for regular expressions.
